Do you customize each wedding or use a standard script?As a wedding officiant specializing in personalized ceremonies, I love having the opportunity to create truly unique and meaningful experiences for couples on their special day.. I will ask you questions and get to know you so I can draft a ceremony that is reflective of your personalities, beliefs, and relationship!

Can you perform ceremonies for couples with different religious denominations? What if we want a non- religious ceremony?Interfaith wedding ceremonies are one of the things I do best, and I can create a customized ceremony for you that blends your religious traditions while remaining true to both. I want to work with you to create a custom ceremony that is authentic to you and your beliefs, whatever they may be. Offering customized ceremonies allows me to tailor each ceremony to the couple's preferences, whether they desire a traditional, contemporary, religious, or secular ceremony.

Do you marry same sex couples?Yes! I work with LGBTQ couples almost every week and am happy to marry any couple who wants to tie the knot. I truly believe that every couple deserves to have their love celebrated and honored through marriage, regardless of gender or sexual orientation.

Where do you perform ceremonies?I am located in Asheville and perform weddings in NC, SC and TN. I work with great venues and especially love elopements at Bed and Breakfasts! I am flexible so I can make your wedding day truly special, regardless of the location. Whether you on a sandy beach, in a lush garden, atop a mountain, or even in their your backyard, I want to help you create the perfect setting for your big day.

What if we want a “ritual”?Unity ceremonies are a beautiful addition to any wedding ceremony, symbolizing the coming together of two individuals and families. There are many different types of unity ceremonies that couples can choose from, each with its own symbolic meaning. Some popular examples include: sand ceremony, tree planting, handfasting, candle lighting, or a wine ceremony. I am happy to discuss other options as well!

What time do you arrive?Arriving early to the wedding ceremony (at least 30-45 minutes prior to starting time) is not only professional but also allows me to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for the couple and their guests. Taking the time to get to know friends and family before the ceremony begins helps me establish a connection with them and make everyone feel more comfortable and at ease. It also provides an opportunity to address any last-minute details or concerns and ensure that everything is in place for a smooth and memorable ceremony!

Will you attend rehearsal?At the wedding rehearsal you are simply practicing walking in and walking out, but not the ceremony itself, therefore many couples don’t feel the need to have the officiant attend. However, if you desire extra guidance or reassurance leading up to their big day, I can usually attend the rehearsal for an additional fee.

Will you “file” our marriage license?Yes! By handling the paperwork promptly and efficiently allows you to fully enjoy your time as newlyweds without the added stress of worrying about administrative tasks! By having the witnesses sign the marriage license and mailing it in within 24 hours, I provide peace of mind to the couple, ensuring that your marriage is legally recognized in a timely manner.

Are you ordained in NC?Yes! I am ordained to perform ceremonies in all states mentioned above. It's crucial for couples to ensure that their chosen wedding officiant has the proper credentials to solemnize their marriage, especially in states like North Carolina where there may be specific legal requirements. Our friends and family don’t know we’re already legally married. Can you still do a ceremony?Absolutely! Even if you are already legally married, you can still have a personalized and meaningful wedding ceremony to celebrate your commitment to each other in front of your friends and family.
